Of all the money that ere I had, I spent it in good company.
And of all the harm that ere I’ve done, alas was done to none but me.
And all I’ve done for want of wit, to memory now I cannot recall.
So fill me to the parting glass. Goodnight and joy be with you all.
TextTool was built out of love for iOS and the need to perform certain types of tasks. It started as a simple idea and grew. TextTool 2 was written to take this to the next level, to try to provide a desktop-class experience to a platform that needed it.
Reality, though, has this way of making things difficult. TextTool is not immune, and faces a number of hurdles:
It is with a sad heart I must inform you that, as of today, TextTool is no longer for sale in the App Store and all future support and development have ceased.
I want to wholeheartedly thank TextTool’s small group of highly-engaged supporters. I’ve tried to do the best I could for all of you.
TextTool 1.x and 2.x will continue to function as they always have (there are no external dependencies or services), just without support or updates, for as long as iOS supports it.
I am full of ideas and…
TextTool 2 has made $3,102.37 in 891 sales, including bundle upgrades. This doesn’t even cover a week of development time. TextTool 1.x never cleared $5,000 over its entire lifetime. I will admit that more could have been done to market it. ↩
